ST GEORGE'S GIRLS' HIGH SCHOOL.

A pride of mine and Penang, St George's Girls' School (SGGS) holds its reputation for years. Being one of the top leading schools in Penang, both in academic and co-curriculum, I'd like to share about being a Georgian.

Today, our school has grown so much and has an identity known to the people around.

The schools' enblem is a red crest of St George on a horse slaying a dragon, as painted by Gustave Moreau. It is coloured in red and white, the two colours of the school. RED represents BRAVERY while WHITE represents PURITY.  

On top of the enblem is the schools' malay name while at the bottom is the schools' motto; Aut Viam Inveniam Aut Faciam.

SGGS PRIDE

SPORTS

SGGS Hockey team

The SGGS hockey team is one of the most active clubs, with nearly training everyday to maintain their image. SGGS is proud to say that our hockey team is also our state's girls' hockey team.

VIVACIOUS

Vivacious is SGGS's cheer team. Competed in many national level cheer championships as well as performing in various events.

MARCHING BAND

SGGS Marching band is a very proud identity which consists of various instruments such as but not limited to, drums, bagpipes, saxophone, french horn, flute, trombone, clarinet and percusiions. Competing in international competitions and shows, the school's band is recognizable from a distance.

ENGLISH DEBATE

SGGS is also well known more recently for its English Debate team. The SGGS debate team has done international and national level competitions, making a name where we go.

ST GEORGE'S INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS' CONFERENCE (SISC)

For the past 10 years, SGGS has been the host and organizing commitee for the SISC. The SISC is a conference where high school students all over the world come together under one roof to discuss global topics and bond together, uniting us all. Some examples of the themes we've had for the conference are; Global Citizenship and A Crack In The Earth. This Internationally known conference is definitely something SGGS holds close to heart.

PREFECTORIAL BOARD
SGGS Prefectorial Board is another accomplishment our our school. The red and white uniform makes us stand out in the crowd.

This is just a brief glimpse of St George's Girls' School. I'm so grateful to be able to experience life as a georgian, being exposed to all the things I need in life.
