Little India Trip

On 17th August, I went to Little India Penang with a friend. In this blog, I'd like to share what i did on this day trip

At first we met up and Anandha Bhawan. My friend gave me and my parents some cake she just baked! I also bought some Florenta cookies from her to support her small business. Do you know what is florenta? Florenta is a crunchy caramel almond pumpkin seed cookie.

Here this is how it looks like!

We started by going to NR Sweets. There we bought a few indian sweets to sit and eat.
Palcova, candy, special mysore pak, chcolate burfi are a few of what we bought!

After this we went to go window shopping for lehenga. My friend wanted to try and see the diff colours of a lehenga suit and find out their price range. She planned on maybe buying one. Unfortunately, after 3 shops, we decided to stop looking at lehengas because they were all too grand. I told my friend about punjabi suits instead and how the punjabi suit can be worn much more casual especially for her teaching classes. We immediately went into Umaiyal textiles and was happy with what we saw.

The aunties upstairs with the punjabi suit section were very friendly and helped us pick the right punjabi suit for my friend. She tried on a few (over her head of course cuz of MCO) and decided for a pretty pink that suited her pale skin tone. The original price of this suit was rm300+ but we went and got it for rm130. However, after going back home my friend found out that the shawl with the suit was stained. We could have gotten a much cheaper price if we checked properly! Rgardless, the punjabi suit was very pretty.

After buying ths we went to get more sweets from another well known sweet store called Thulasiraman Sdn Bhd. There we bought more palcova!!!! It was deliciousss!!

To end our little india walk, we went to get a refreshing mango lassi at Woodlands vegetarian restaurant. The manggo lassi was so thick and rich and very refreshing for that hot day.

MANGGO LASSI!!!!!! yummyyyy
