Shepard's pie is a delicious meal made of lamb meat, potato and cheese.
Ingredients:
- 3 large potatoes, peeled and quartered
- Mozzarella cheese
- 1 Egg yolk
- 1 stick butter
- 1 medium onion, chopped (about 1 1/2 cups)
- 1-2 cups vegetables (diced carrots, corn, peas)
- 1 1/2 lbs ground round beef, cooked
- 1/2 cup beef/chicken broth
- Chili powder
- Salt, pepper, other seasonings of choice
Method:
1. Boil potatoes
2. Saute vegetables with some butter. Add chopped onions and cook until tender. Add vegetables according to their cooking time(ex, carrot takes longer so put it first)
3. Add ground lamb and broth. Season with pepper and salt.
4. Add chili powder and mix. Add according to spice level.
5. Mash the boiled potatoes.
6. Add egg yolk and mix in the potatoes.
7. Add cheese into the potatoes and mix well. Keep adding cheese until desired texture.
8. Add pepper and salt and butter in the potatoes. Mix well.
9. Layer the lamb mixture at the bottom of a baking dish.
10. Top with the mashed potatoes. Even the potatoes out.
11. Use a fork and create lines on the potatoes.
12. Preheat oven to 200 degree celcius.
13. Bake for about 30 minutes or until browning.
