3: MYSTERY OF THE COORDINATES

Chapter 3: Drama Class

Thud!

The theater doors slammed behind as Mila and I walked in. Mrs.Walker and a few others were already seated. Chairs were arranged in a circle on stage. I walked up and slumped my body in one of the empty seats like slime dripping off the palms of your hand.

Class started. We learnt facial expressions. God it was a boring class! I was expecting something more fun, like impromptu scene acting or something. The 2 hour class, which felt like 2 days, finally ended. Mila and I did our weekly checks at the changing room. We had to make sure all the props were tally with the checklist. It smelt like freshly washed fabric. I was walking around when I noticed something out of place.

I walked towards the table, trying to get a closer look. A map. I've seen it before. We used it for our show "Around the World in 80 days". But as far as I know, we only had one of these maps. Behind this one, was another map. I could see a part of the paper coming apart from this map. It looked like it was sealed to the back of the one we used. I took hold of the map, slowly and very carefully pulling apart the two maps. It was old and brown and wrinkled up. This map, was real. I just knew it. Holding it in my two hands felt weird, but real. I had to find out anything I could about this map.
